The Silverdale woman’s rubber duck emerged in front of 18,380 others Sunday to net White a Nissan truck or $16,000 cash from Advantage Nissan in the annual Rotary Club of Silverdale’s Great Kitsap Duck Race.

Contestants’ rubber ducks, which got dumped into the waters not far from shore at Silverdale’s Waterfront Park, made the slow slog toward the beach. The race, which raises funds that the club will distribute throughout the county,Charm bracelet, netted almost $76,000, according to club officials on Sunday.

Mike Coyne with the National Weather Service said the damage to Jiffy Food Mart at U.S. 72 and Lindsay Lane was due to a microburst at 3:13 p.m.. He said winds were clocked at 75 miles per hour.

Athens Fire and Rescue Chief Danny Southard said once the wind ripped the roof off,discount tiffany, water poured into the building. No one was injured. He was not sure how many people were inside the structure.

"I know some of the firefighters at Station 2, just south of the store, looked out and saw their personal vehicles sliding sideways about that time," Southard said.

He said the debris field went east toward Lindsay Shopping Center. Southard said the wind was blowing from the northeast to the southwest.

Southard had the power cut to the structure, and firefighers and police blocked access to the parking lot and building.

Southard said about 15 minutes before the microburst, lightning struck something near Oak Leaf Apartments, and a woman outside felt the strike.

"She said she felt it tingle, but she was able to describe what happened and seemed to be OK," Southard said.

Athens-Limestone Hospital treated the woman, who was in her 20s or 30s, as a precaution,tiffany, Southard said.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Brad Curnutt said that in the county, there was a report of a tree down on Yarbrough Road and a lightning strike at Arrowhead Landing,tiffany money clips, which caught a bean field on fire.

She was Phyllis Theroux, a writer and teacher from Ashland, Va., and the book was "The Journal Keeper: A Memoir" (Atlantic Monthly Press, 281 pages,tiffany bangles, $24). The body of 23-year-old Jerryell Myesha Foster of the first block of Hazy Morn Court was found March 2 off an interchange between Interstate 95 and Virginia State Road 610 in Stafford County.

She had been missing since Nov. 25, 2009; a relative contacted police after she failed to appear at a family Thanksgiving dinner.

An autopsy revealed that Foster died of gunshot wounds,tiffany rings, and the case was ruled a homicide.

Frederick Allen Christian, whom police identified as Foster’s boyfriend, was arrested Monday night in Baltimore and charged with first-degree murder.

Christian,tiffany earrings, 30, of the 800 block of Appleton St. in Baltimore, was being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review.

Dickson City Mayor Anthony Zaleski waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday on a drunken-driving charge and applied for admission into a program for first-time offenders.

Mr. Zaleski, who is also chairman of the Lackawanna County Multi-Purpose Stadium Authority,tiffany bangles, was charged with drunken driving after Olyphant police pulled him over on Thanksgiving night.

Mr. Zaleski’s lawyer, Jerry Karam, said Mr. Zaleski is applying for Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, or ARD, which allows first-time, nonviolent offenders the opportunity to erase a charge from their criminal history if approved by the Lackawanna County district attorney’s office. A defendant’s crime is expunged from his or her record upon successful completion of a probationary period, usually several months.

Drunken driving charges are among the cases most often approved for ARD.

The woman, Shawn Marie Melton,tiffany pendants, 45,tiffany, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree assault in the Nov. 28 incident at the couple’s home. Under terms of a plea agreement accepted by Judge Eric Hylden, Melton received a stay of imposition of sentence. If she complies with conditions of her five-year probation, the case will be discharged and for civil purposes — employment applications, for example — she will have a record of a misdemeanor instead of a felony.

Melton has no prior criminal record.

Hylden ordered that Melton serve 60 days in a female offender program unless that interferes with her employment,tiffany key rings, in which case she will serve her time in the Bethel Work-Release program. She was ordered to abstain from alcohol and non-prescribed drugs and is subject to random testing to make sure she is abstaining.

Melton must undergo counseling and participate and complete the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project women’s program.

According to the criminal complaint, Melton told the 911 operator that she and the victim, John Kaarbo, were intoxicated and fighting and "being drunk and dumb."

St. Louis County sheriff’s deputies responding to the 911 call from Melton found her leaning against the back screen door of the house where she and Kaarbo lived. Kaarbo, 41, was found lying on the couch with his hands on his chest. There were two stab wounds to his torso. He said Melton had stabbed him and he told her she’d better finish him off. She then stabbed him again,tiffany money clips, he said.

A physician listed Kaarbo’s condition as critical and said he would have died from his injuries if not treated. Melton suffered two black eyes, a broken nose and bumps on the back of her head during the incident.

Kaarbo told Hylden that he and Melton are now engaged to be married and are closing on a house they are buying together next month. He said the couple have been sober since that night.

"The whole incident was life-changing for both of us,” Melton told Hylden. "The end result was positive. There is no more alcohol use on either of our parts. … We’re looking to the future together.”

LOS ANGELES, June 21 AAP – Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr and her Hollywood beau, Orlando Bloom, are set to walk down the aisle.

After months of marriage rumours, faux engagement ring sightings and denials from their publicists, the couple has decided to take the plunge.

Bloom’s publicist confirmed the lovebirds are engaged.

"They are engaged," Bloom’s representative told the New York Daily News.
