In the wake of recent airline collapses from the likes of XL Airways, Zoom and Silverjet tiffany jewellery, British Airways are the latest casualties of the recession currently crippling the airline industry, with news that BA flights may be disrupted in the lead-up to Christmas.
Following a disastrous 12 months where BA has seen 401 million pounds Sterling of losses to its business, last week negotiations relating to changing working conditions, pay freezes and redundancies of its cabin crew staff broke down, resulting in Unite, the union representing BA’s 14,000 cabin crew staff, to call for industrial action.
The results of the ballot of BA cabin crew on possible strike action will be announced on silver money clips 14th December, potentially paving the way for disruption through the peak travelling period around Christmas.
